Detailing & Restoration

Paint Correction & Polishing

Machine polishing to reduce swirl marks and fine scratches and bring back depth and gloss.

Overview

What it involves

Paint correction levels microscopic imperfections in the clear coat using machine polishers, specialist pads and compounds. The aim is to reduce swirl marks, fine scratches and dullness so light reflects evenly.

How much improvement is possible depends on the paint itself. We assess it first, explain what is realistic and choose the least aggressive approach that delivers the result. It is also the ideal foundation for PPF or ceramic coating.

Why choose it

Key benefits

  • Improved gloss and depth

    A clearer, more reflective finish.

  • Reduced swirl marks

Fine defects are minimised under inspection light.

  • Paint-conscious approach

Clear coat is a finite resource, so we correct only as needed.

  • Ideal pre-protection step

Lock in the finish with film or coating.

Our process

How we work

  1. 01

    Paint inspection

We assess the paint under dedicated lighting and measure what can safely be corrected.

  2. 02

    Wash & decontamination

The vehicle is washed and decontaminated so no grit is carried into the polishing stage.

  3. 03

    Machine polishing

Compounds and pads are matched to the paint, working panel by panel.

  4. 04

    Finish inspection

We review the result with you and discuss protecting the corrected paint.

FAQs

Common questions

Can every scratch be removed?

No. Light marks and swirls usually respond well, but deep scratches that pass through the clear coat cannot be polished out. We will point these out during inspection.

Does polishing damage the paint?

Polishing removes a very small amount of clear coat. We assess the paint first and use the gentlest approach that achieves the result.

Should I protect the paint afterwards?

We recommend it. Ceramic coating or paint protection film helps preserve the corrected finish.
